OK, I sort of lied. There actually isn't any numerical relationship between the numbers.
These are the numbers of letters in the names of the months in English. "January" has 7 letters, "February" has 8 letters, "March" has 5, etc. And that all means that the next number is the number of letters in July, or 4.
